Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that Wordsworth was born in a town/village called Cockermouth? Supposedly, it's named after the confluence of where the river Cocker (I don't even know her) flows into the river Derwent. I don't buy it.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor all their own.

Even better, why is my junk referred to by a term for barn-fowl?
