Unity Convention for Atheists? from Pharyngula

Might be a good idea, but I'm thinking of two things; Groucho's "I'd never belong to any club that would have me as a member"; and the South Park episode "Go God Go", where, in the future there isn't any religion, but the Unified Atheist League, the United Atheist Alliance, and the Allied Atheist Allegiance are at war, over what atheists should call themselves.

I quit being a club member when I left Christianity.

One of my pet peeves is militant atheists.

That's why I won't support the Richard Dawkins Foundation, even tho Dickie has a whole lot of good things to say, esp. about eeevolution.

I don't think Magic or Sci-Fi are belief systems either, but I've attend conferences for both. I go for fun, to meet like minded people, and to learn from the lecturers.
