Thanks Baldly.
I'm finally weaning myself from paper and learning photoshop. I enjoy working with real paint n' pencils more, but the digital medium has its advantages...

My grandfather was a photographer and artist, among other things. He made many oil pintings and charcoal drawings.
I hated oils because hey take sooo long to dry, but I dabbled with acrilics for a few years. I very much like the acrilics. Very fun to work with.
Recently my two granddaughters were here and I got out my paint box and three canvas boards and we made a painting.

Here is mine:

Like I said, my Grandfather was an artist. ;)

Not bad, Froggie. Certainly better than anything I could manage - I'm not a very visual person
"Polymath" means "having learned much"; the correct word for "having failed to learn much" is simply "Ray".

Not too shabby Grandpa Froggie... I suppose the Granddaughters' work out shined yours ;)
I pull out the paints (watercolors are the easiest) n' air dry clay when the kids come over. Amazing how quiet n' serious they get creating... got enough of their art to wallpaper the frig n' house.

Yeah, well my gf's daughter has tried to wallpaper the house at times with her art (taping pictures every where). But yeah, we often wonder what is going on when it gets quiet and we don't see her for awhile, usually she is sitting at her desk drawing.

 I wish I'd taken pictures of their paintings. With six grandkids, we have artwork plastered all over the place too (you can't even see the refrigerator.)

I always keep a couple of those huge bundles of colored markers and paper on hand. You can now buy a set of like thirty different colored markers for a couple bucks. I like to take them for a walk and tell them to look for something to draw when we get home. Why do kids stick out their tongues when drawing?

When my daughter hit her teens I wish she was drawing when things got quiet... she had snuck her boyfriend into her room or she had snuck out her window.

The taste of snot on their upper lip is inspiring? Could never figure that one out myself.
It was always pointed out to me that my head would lean from shoulder to shoulder, guess I was trying to grasp perspective.

I also spent quite a bit of sketching time as a youngster, which made my teachers yell at me for not doing what I should be :D. I was never naturally artistic, but I make up for it by memorising a good number of meterlines (Cranium diameter: 3/4 head height. Eye centres 60% away from centreline. Total body height 7x head height) and practicing whenever I get bored.

There are exceptions to the rule, Qua... Ray is only 3x.

I nominate DRC2 (who apparently has never met Ray) for his evolution dribble in the chicken/egg thread.
