Tony laid off for 'financial reasons'

Tony has been expelled from LW and is now on his own as a wild adult fundie! Watch as he grows and develops here!

I'm certainly not worried about his finances (or LWs). He should have a pension from being a sheriff's deputy, and maybe it's time for Mrs. Miano to work outside of the home.

As to LW experiencing financial difficulties I tend to believe it. They did release this video back on June 12th begging for money.

As for firing Tony, the financial problems could have been just an excuse. His recent action of showing up behind a clinic where abortions occur could be one that spooked the rest of LW staff. He didn't demonstrate with signs (or his cross), he was just there.

I tend to agree with everyone in that it isn't purely financial at all. With all that having been said, is OnTheBox not going to be updated anymore? Tony was essentially the only one touching it the entire time, and we all know Ray can't moderate his own blog, much less be responsible for content of two of them.

But they always beg for money. That's what they do. It's their purpose. Have you ever seen one of these ministries say, "It's OK folks, we have plenty of money. God is satisfied with the amount that we've taken in, so don't bather to send any more donations."

Azou wrote:Tony is I guess what one would call "visible talent," so firing Tony is a big move. Putting forth my best twisted atheist bunker minion analysis here (you seem bitter, Tony), I wager:

A) They really did lay him off, and LW is in a bad spot. It's possible that Tony wasn't seen as super important, and his salary was just a large chunk of money they could take back. But generally, you quietly fire off backward people first as opposed to very publically showing how badly you need money.

B) Maybe they are hurting, money-wise, but not enough to need to fire Tony. Perhaps they intended to make a very public spectacle out of their financial need in order to drum up some sale/donations. Ray's shrewd enough to throw Tony overboard for this.

C) Tony has a history of getting in arguments with supposed allies. Things that LW prefers to keep quiet about, like their Calvinism. Maybe he went too far.

D) Tony is just a crazy guy with a downright scary need for authority. Maybe they saw him as PR poison?

Either way, couldn't have happened to a better jerk. I hope you actually learn something, Tony, and make an attempt to be a better person at the end.

I'll vote C and D. A and B may have played a lesser role in the scenario -- may not have.

But Tony learning something? No. Tony has it in his mind that it was nothing but a lay-off for financial reasons and it is going to stay in his mind that way. If he were to let it seep into his head that there may have been reasons that have to do with his fucked up behavior then Tony would have to start taking an honest look at himself. He would chop his dick off and shove a red-hot poker up his ass before he would do that.

To be fair when has LW not been begging for more money?

I've never before seen them outright ask for donations. I've always seen them plugging their wares (books, videos, courses, etc). Apparently they're not selling well.

There are multiple donate buttons all over the Living Waters' site, along with plenty of reminders and suggestions for contributions:

Thank you very much for your interest in becoming a partner with Living Waters as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission through the many outreach opportunities here at the ministry. From our Way of the Master TV series, "On the Box" program and now "180" - the gospel and teaching of biblical evangelism is going out in force. We believe God supplies for the needs of the ministry, and part of that provision is met through each person the Lord leads to partner with us regularly through prayer and financial support.

There are a number of methods by which you can support the ministry financially. Following are a list of those options:

Credit Cards

Partner

This is the most convenient way to make a donation to the ministry. You may process your donation by going to our secure credit card processing page (click the above Partner Button), or over the phone with one of our ministry representatives by calling our toll free number (800) 437-1893. If you are placing an order for evangelism resources, you may also request that your donation be added to your current order. Our customer service representatives are always at your service to help you in any way.

Cash or Check

This remains the most straight-forward method for getting your support to us. Click here to download our mail-in donation form. Please mail all donations to:

Living Waters
Attn: Finance & Accounting
9818 Arkansas St
Bellflower CA 90706

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

For those who would rather not use a credit card, we are able to debit the amount of your gift directly from your checking account. Please click here to download our EFT Form for instructions on utilizing this option.

Stock or Securities Donations

Partners who wish to make a donation in the form of marketable stocks or securities may do so through our broker, at Wells Fargo. Please notify our offices at donations@livingwaters.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so we can provide you with the necessary account information.

Planned Giving

Planned, or deferred, gifts can provide significant benefits to you and your loved ones now and in the future, while offering financial support for Living Waters and its outreaches for generations to come. Typical estate gifts include life insurance, retirement assets and bequests. However, a planned gift could also be a way for a donor with non-liquid assets to make a gift today. To begin a conversation about how you may help Living Waters with an estate or planned gift, please contact our Director of Donor Relations, Alan Pearson, personally at donations@livingwaters.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 562-207-2283.

Living Waters does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. We strongly encourage donors to seek counsel from their own legal and financial advisors for all legal and tax aspects pertaining to the structure of their gifts.

Property and Other types of Gifts

We are thankful for any support that the Lord might supply through you. If you are considering a special or unique type of gift, please give us a call first, so we can make sure that we have the facilities to receive your gift, and have a way of putting it to its best use for the furtherance of the gospel. Please be aware that it may be impractical or impossible for us to receive certain types of gifts, so please be sure to contact us before making any arrangements for transfer.

Donation of Cars, Boats, etc.
Living Waters has partnered with Cars 4 Cause to handle your donation of such assets. Given the time and transfer documents often involved, Cars 4 Causes seems a logical choice. If you would like to donate your vehicle or boat to Living Waters, please click on the Cars 4 Causes link below, and you will be taken to our Living Waters page on their website.

PayPal and Ebay Giving Works
Living Waters is listed as a charity under Ebay's Giving Works Program. You may go to the Giving Works page on Ebay's website, and designate a gift of any amount to Living Waters as part of a sale, purchase, or a one-time gift through the Donate Now tab. Donations made through the Giving Works Program may be paid via a PayPal account.

Questions or Making Changes

If you have questions regarding the ministry, in relation to becoming a partner, please feel free to contact our Director of Donor Relations, Alan Pearson at donations@livingwaters.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 562-207-2283.

If you are already a financial partner and need to make any changes to your Partner information, please email those changes to donations@livingwaters.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or call our Finance & Accounting Department at 562-207-2281. If you would like us to contact you, please send your request with a day, time and number which is most convenient for you.

We know that continuing to be good stewards of the resources God has granted each of us is the desire of believers around the world. Our hope is to help you do just that. By partnering with us in fulfilling the Great Commission, our reach across the globe becomes YOUR reach across the globe. As the Lord’s provision, your continued support enables you, through the ministry, to plant the seeds of the gospel in the hearts of the lost, and equip laborers for the task worldwide.

Note: All gifts and donations are tax deductible in the United States to the full extent allowed by law. Living Waters Publications is a U.S. 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and our outreaches, such as the Way of the Master, On The Box, and "180", are ministries of Living Waters. Our U.S. tax ID number is 27-0094016.

I am not sure why I didn't think of this sooner, but another reason Tony may have been fired is that he did a "nor-cal fire"event that wasn't endorsed by LW a few days before he was fired.

Perhaps Ray was pissed LW didn't get a cut of the "love offering".
A bad analogy is like a leaky screwdriver....
