Yeah..right, Z-man. Gates would build that sucker with the cash in his pocket!

But Bill is an atheist, so why would he bother?

If the point of the project is to show that the Bible story is feasible, they only need one old man with a bronze axe to build it. That shouldn't cost $24,000,000 dollars.

That's true. Even the US military would probably not require more than one or two million for a bronze axe. Of course, Noah would have needed an adz too.

Stupidity shouldn't cost $24M.

You can get much more than a lifetime supply for free.

And likely a peavey or two, too.

Ooo, a tool name I didn't know- thank you, Sir. My grandfather Scott (my namesake) was a lumberjack in Oregon, and I'd seen peavies, but I didn't know the name.

The way their donations are going I estimate AIG will get to their target in about a century or so.

You are most welcome, zilch. Peavies saved my back many times over the course of my life. Basic physics really can move a huge log around when properly applied.

Only if their target stops moving.

My guess is that failing a sudden and massive jump in donation as the rich backers finally get around to giving it it's boost, AiG will quietly revise their target to match the result, and then crow about how they were completely right.

So basically, they'll treat their donation targets exactly the way they treat science.
