They just might try to 'witness' to them.

Ah, conspiracy theory nutters. I know them well.

I have spent some time at http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum which has just about every sort of conspiracy that can be dreamed up. The people there are insane.

Jeff Rense (of rense.com infamy) has a forum likewise filled with nutters, not nearly as active but with nutjob people all the same:

http://renseradioforum.yuku.com

I belong to a "green" community (I am not really what you would call "green" myself, though) that sees a lot of people from the extreme left end of the political spectrum. I am moderate myself but to them I seemed terribly conservative. Anyway, a few nutty people got the notion that I (and a few others of similar political bent) was hired by Karl Rove to disrupt their, ahem, "activism," when in reality all I was doing was calling them out on their more zany conspiracy theories by posting those pesky little things called "facts."

To this day, that bastard Karl Rove has YET to pay me.

Salem, I LOVE ABS !!! That place is nuttier than squirrel shit. I don't know which is better for a laugh when I'm down- Rapture Ready or ABS.

I've never seen the other forum, I'll check it out.

I hear Rove is slow pay these days!

I believe that the nuclear power industry (nuclear fission: I make no claims about fusion) is, if not entirely evil, then at least incapable of managing itself, and is not a valid option for the future.

I believe that sodium fluoride in drinking water is compulsory, unregulated, mass drugging, and only beneficial for people under the age of 12.

And I believe that Soy's health benefits have been massively overhyped because the stuff is cheap to produce on otherwise infertile, and in some cases poisonous, soil.

The first I have studied extensively, and have seen the same preconstucted arguments repeated by the industry, all of which have been countered many times over by the opposition. The latter two I haven't really studied fully.

And I don't believe we've been visited by aliens, although I think it is almost certain that life exists elsewhere in the universe.

ExPatMatt wrote:=What would be the reaction from the fundies if aliens were to make contact with the human race?

Denial?
Suicide?
Mad Apologetics? (AnswersinGenesis....and Beyond!)

This touches on several beliefs that I have. one of them is that humanity couldn't healthily deal with a creator deity appearing just to say "hi". Another, perhaps similar to the previous, is that humanity couldn't deal with aliens landing on the WhiteHouse lawn; we're tear them and ourselves apart.

In general, I've always felt that if you're going to contact and intelligent species, you need to be super, super careful. To be honest, it's a bit too "convenient", in that we haven't seen God make himself known unambiguously; we haven't had little green men on the nightly news.

Anyhoo, I'm not into conspiracy theories. I'm a skeptic, and that prevents me from buying into ideas even if I like them.
"Polymath" means "having learned much"; the correct word for "having failed to learn much" is simply "Ray".
