I know I've mentioned this at Ray's before but it is becoming more prevalent and I've seen a few smrties use this saying recently and even though it's petty, it still drives me crazy.

The correct saying is: I couldn't care less

not: I could care less

when you use the latter you are indicating that you could, indeed, care less. When you use the former you are saying you don't care at all.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest I must get back to writing my outline for this new reality show I'm pitching to The Learning Channel about drug addicted hoarders who also happen to be dwarves. I'm gonna call it "Small Steps".

I disagree, no one to my knowledge makes a point of admitting that they may slightly care about something when using this saying.

Hehe. Of course you're right, Liz: "I could care less" doesn't make sense, the way it's usually used. But I can't get that exercised about it. I could care less about it, but not much less.

Perhaps it was I who said the offending phrase. I could always care less about those asshats. I couldn't care enough less to actually care less but I could if I wanted to.

I'll tell you why. If I cared as little as I could care, which would be caring so little that I erupted in a fit of disdain and digust I might just go to BELLFLOWER AND BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF RAY WITH A FUNGO BAT, that's why. So I continue to not care less.

Liz is right. Misuse of language, especially when it is written off as "acceptable" by virtue of being popular, should not be tolerated. With that in mind, I would like to ask you all to refrain from using Z's to replace perfectly good S's, and also to stop removing U's from words.
