To word it better, several authors didn't write each chapter in a book. One author for each book.

The biggest issue is that each of these sources contain language that is very specific to certain time periods. There is no way that one person could have written Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. Unless they suddenly decided to switch between wording that was no longer used in their time.
